Toolshed progress

In mid-September, Phil started work on the much needed tool shed. After the first weekend, nothing else was done until mid-October. That weekend, Phil had help from four of his guy friends, and the framing of the tool shed went very quickly.

Over the course of the next two weeks, Phil worked into the evenings, well after dark, to get a roof on before the next round of rain would come. Though not a difficult roof to build, it was time consuming for a one man crew.
Finishing up at 9:30pm, under the light of the silvery moon, a stand light borrowed from the neighbor, and a flashlight. Straddling the peak with a screw gun in one hand, flashlight in the other, a box of screws resting next to his leg, and a cold slippery metal roof, Phil daringly worked late into the night to finish the roof before the next day's rain.

Contemplating the next steps, Phil begins work on the loft and work bench that greatly added to the utility of the new shed:
"Measure once, cut twice"... or is it "Measure twice, cut once"? Either way, Phil managed to build a wonderful loft and workbench that we know will be put to good use.

Since these pictures, we've prime painted most of the exterior, added door handles and deadbolt lock, moved in all of Phil's tools and many items that didn't fit in the house, and Phil has added lights and electrical outlets. We have more paint, wood trim, windows, and a lean-to that still need to be added, once the weather warms up and Phil gets a full weekend to work. We can hardly wait to show off the handiwork of Phil and the guys who've helped him.
